About the Position
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Refrigeration Design & Estimation Engineer to support the design, costing, and development of cold rooms, refrigeration systems, and industrial cooling solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in delivering efficient, cost-effective, and compliant refrigeration designs aligned with client requirements and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design refrigeration systems including cold rooms, freezer rooms and temperature-controlled warehouses
- Perform accurate cooling load calculations and system sizing
- Select appropriate refrigeration equipment and components based on project requirements
- Prepare technical submittals, design drawings and documentation
- Develop cost estimates, pricing, and Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
- Coordinate with sales, project teams, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution
- Review and ensure compliance with project specifications, international standards, and local regulations
- Provide technical support during project execution and client interactions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- 3–5 years of experience in refrigeration or HVAC design and estimation
- Strong knowledge of cold storage systems, refrigeration components, and pricing methodologies
- Proficiency in design software and equipment selection tools
- Experience with Freon-based systems; knowledge of COâ‚‚, R290 or Ammonia systems is an advantage
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with local Qatar standards and project requirements
- Experience working on industrial or commercial cold storage projects
- Knowledge of energy-efficient and sustainable cooling solutions
